Faces of Humanity abstract portrait

2' * 3 '
acrylic and ink on wrapped canvas

This painting has taken me a few years to finish for a couple of reasons, 1. I don't usually work this large and 2. I don't usually do abstracts. Well working on this piece I have had to overcome these issues. In addition to these colorful faces, I also incorporated some basic tangles to add some interest. I am quite pleased with how it turned out, I just wish my photography skills would do it justice as it is much brighter in person.

Acrylic portrait step by step African child

I haven't been painting alot for a few months now, but i have 4 small open ended paintings that have been ordered and need to finished in time for Christmas. I usually don't take orders this late in the season, but the same client does this to me every year and makes it worth my while .. lol So in order to get back in the swing of things I did this very loose 2hr portrait of a little african boy. This little man was done on an 8 * 10 canvas board and just 5 colors UMB, alizarin crimson, yellow ochre, and black and white. Hope you enjoy.

Feeling Fauvist Portrait Painting

Well while the kids were making up their Father' day cards this weekend I pulled out my paints and let them fly. It is very strange that anything put on the open market is usually very detailed and traditional but anything that I make up for our home is bold, colorful and almost abstract. I love the way this painting turned out-very few strokes with bold color. :)

Man in Turban

2.75 * 2.75 inch Acrylic on stretched canvas SOLD
A quick mini I did yesterday. I have tried for years to get a loose impressionistic style in my watercolors - to no avail. But with acrylics I can be so much more freer with my strokes - as if i dont like it I can always paint over it .. lol ;)
Hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!
