8*10 wrapped canvas Acrylic pouring is an exciting, unpredictable painting technique that doesn't involve brushes and can provide you with finished paintings or interesting backgrounds for additional techniques such as this one. Here is another revamped failed pour painting that after the addition of ink and watercolor it transformed it into something spectacular. Carefully places accents help to acentuate the.hair and weathered face of this individual.  I also tried really hard not to cover all of the beautiful background instead using the texture to my advantage. I LOVE this painting, it has everything I look for in a self-critic of my work, contrast, color, spontaneity, interest, lost and found edges. I hope this inspires you to try something new. I have been experimenting with a new technique of acrylic pouring with mixed results. This little 8*10 painting is one of those pours that didn't quite turn out the way I hoped, so when it dried instead of repouring it, I decided to use it as a background for another painting. I drew inspiration from the complimentary muted turquoises and rusty tones to dictate the overall theme of the painting. As there were not a lot of "pre-loaded images" to work within this pour so I had to carve out the images and work with the texture of the background. The muted blues/greys and texture also reminded me of washed out plaster of the Mediterranean so running with that I emphasized the oranges, pinks, and greens. With all the visual interest the background you don't have to worry about covering all the underpainting, just add enough detail develop your vision.

This little landscape painting was created using gelli printed paper that I cut into 1 inch square tiles, shuffled them up and glues them to a small canvas. This acted as my background for this painting. This process serves as adding color and pattern to a blank canvas as well as adding some interesting texture. 4.5" * 7" Acrylic painting covered with Gelli printed paper tiles on wrapped canvas Hope you enjoy

I haven't been painting alot for a few months now, but i have 4 small open ended paintings that have been ordered and need to finished in time for Christmas. I usually don't take orders this late in the season, but the same client does this to me every year and makes it worth my while .. lol So in order to get back in the swing of things I did this very loose 2hr portrait of a little african boy. This little man was done on an 8 * 10 canvas board and just 5 colors UMB, alizarin crimson, yellow ochre, and black and white. Hope you enjoy. Click Here For Auction!

Well this was an eye opener. Another acrylic but this time i tried pouring, as well as my fingers dipped in water to acheive this marbleing technique. Overall it "was a beautiful painting till it started to dry and then it cracked. I dont know why - maybe because the paint was applied so thickly. hmm! Anyways I thought I would share what was. I peeled this painting off and are saving the paint skins for another project.
