Vintage Inspired Wood Signs

This project was inspired by a 1950's ice chest and picnic basket that we found on our travels this summer, both of which are in the red plaid patterning. Both of these were created using the separator pieces from a wine crate. I started by giving the pieces a good sanding and 2 coats of primer. I free-handed the coffee sign and used some letter stencils for the Farmers market sign and then sealed them with 2 coats of outdoor sealer as they are hung outside. Ampersand Table Project - A modern update to a tired table

I am almost embarrassed to show the before and after of this project, but it is my most popular Pinterest project to date. As you can see this coffee table has seen better days was in dire need of a little freshening up. So I washed her down with some TSP and gave this baby a good sanding. I then applied 2 coats of Kilz primer to cover all the years of stains and God knows what else. I decided to freehanded the ampersand design because it was just easier than trying to print it and wrap the stencil around the edges. I love the clean lines and typographic nature of this table and now I don't mind looking at it again.

Little Nut - Gelli Printing

Once upon a time I was a little nut and the older I get the more this quote couldn't be truer. This is another page in my inspirational art journal. My journey of what keeps me going from day to day. This piece is done on a gelatin printed background with some collage, ink and oil pastel.
