2 Tangled Pears Zentangle with watercolor washes

My DH doesn't like it when I throw out any paintings, so when he took out the recycling the other day he came back into the house with 3 that   I didn't think were really up to par. He asked me if I could tangle up these paintings. ** actually it was more of doodle wiggling his finger - saying can you do that to that. ;) ** LOL So this is what I can up with. It is WAY better than the original painting. :) Hope you enjoy Tammy

It is 8 * 10.5 inch Ink on AF paper. I love this form of art. I dont have to put much thought into the planning process, I just squiggle a line... flip the paper around until I find my image and the rest is just instinct. Lights against darks, Open patterns against closed patterns. I Love it! and hope you do to.

Gold and Turquoise Watercolor Lizard Painting- ACEO

2.5 * 3.5 inch watercolor on 140lb CP Arches SOLD My kitchen table is been taken over with pre-school books, so ive had to resort to changing my artistic expression from medium/large sized works to whatever fits into the palm of my hand and can be moved quickly. LOL I dont mind because my 4 year old has been writing, spelling and sounding out words and starting to catch on to column adding. :) My 2.5 year old is a parrot so anything that we are working on that day is being picked up by X as well. Zentangle - This could be my next addiction :)

Everybody doodles... so why not put in all down on paper in repeating abstract block patterns. Ive seen alot of these done on the artist sites I frequent so I thought I would take inspiration from these wonderful artits and put all these years of doodling into something tangable. Hope these inspire you to try something a little different. Tammy

10 min Ladies - abstract portraits

Good Morning All. Ive had the luxury of the kids sleeping in this morning so I got a few 10 min portraits done. I am actually very pleased in how they came out. They are bright, fresh.. and the best part they actually look human. ;) 2.75 *2.75 in acrylic on mini stretched canvas 3 * 3.75 in acrylic on 600lb rough watercolor paper On a side note, My wonderful husband has been modeling for me over the past few weekends, I started out with 3 - 15 min sessions of quick sketches.. which turned out so good, he has allowed me to paint him from life. I have never done anything like this and it is so exciting. :) After a 1 hour session - from sketch to blocking in local color - it already looks like him. I hope to get a picture today while it is nice outside and get it up sometime this weekend. Hope you enjoy

From my sketchbook - portraits

I swear I was born with a pencil in my hand, as my first love will always be drawing. Growing up I really never got much encouragement to pursue my passion for art so out of necessity to get rid of all of this creative energy it was for the most part me and my pencil. I have about 25 sketchbooks scattered around my house, stuck in my purse, hiding in my glove box.. lol, but they are available at any time for my amusement. So I thought I would share a few of my portrait practices while I get back to painting. Hope you enjoy

Colorado Street Corner and another Afternoon Tea Miniature Painting

Been enjoying the last few days of summer with above normal temps. So we have been putting the gardens to bed and canning up our non-existant garden this year. But I have managed to fit a few mini's in this week. They both measure 2.75 * 2.75 inch and are painted with acrylics. Hope you enjoy

Brown Hair Woman - ATC

I heard the most thought provoking thing this week when it came to painting portraits. "Every skin tone is made up of the 3 primaries - yellow, red and blue. The only thing that makes us differant is the amount of water used.: I wish I can remember where I heard it, because it has so much truth to it. When i paint people, I use variations of the just the 3 primaries This is the latest in my portrait trading card series and was created using raw sienna, rose madder and cobalt blue. I love her little smirk, it adds a little something to an otherwise dull portrait. Hope you enjoy. 2.5 * 3.5 inch format watercolor on 140lb CP Click Here For Auction!
